Egyptair is the first customer for Airbus’s A330-200 passenger-to-freighter conversion program. Egyptair has contracted to convert two of its A330-200 passenger aircraft and has an option for two more. The freighters will replace an A300B4 and two A300-600Fs, providing “one third additional payload, with substantially improved range capabilities and significantly reduced carbon dioxide emissions coupled with extensively improved noise footprints”. The Egyptair planes will enter service mid 2018.
